Digitisation of the Archives

The documents in the archives of the International Tracing Service are of enormous historical significance. It is important that they are preserved and protected for future generations. Therefore, the records in the archives are being digitised.

Preservation of the Documents

The restoration of the documents in the ITS archives also serves the long-term preservation of the original documents. Apart from the sheer volume of material, the varying grades and condition of the paper documents place great demands on the archivists.

Inventory Lists

The digitisation of the paper and microfilm archives began a number of years ago and is being carried out step by step. Parts of the collection that have already been processed are referred to as electronic archive units.
