What can be researched?
The ITS is happy to help with researching our records.
The records can be inspected to answer questions about family or local history, or of a scientific or official nature. The archive materials can also be used for dissertations, theses, and seminar or schoolwork.
In addition to personal documents relating to prisoners, forced labourers, displaced persons and children, the archive also has a stock of material on factual issues, including correspondence between inquirers and the ITS (older than 25 years), that can be used for historical research.
These materials fall into the following categories:
- Maps
- Witness accounts
- Court case files
- Reich law gazettes
- Court orders
- Written correspondence between SS offices etc.
- A small library
