Publications and the Protection of Personal Data
Section 4 of the Regulations for Access
The handling of personal data, especially of victims of persecution during the National Socialist regime and the Second World War, requires special care and consideration. This includes surviving former prisoners, surviving displaced persons and other victims, and their respective family members.
Researchers are individually responsible for respecting the privacy and other laws and regulations, as well as other generally accepted practices regarding personal data that may pertain to their research. The International Tracing Service cannot be held responsible for the use of the archives and documents granted to users according to these Regulations.
