Historical Research at ITS

Since its inception as a result of the Second World War, the main focus of the ITS has been the tracing service. In November 2007, the documents archived in Bad Arolsen were made accessible to the general public for research purposes.

Cooperations and Research Projects

Alongside supporting and pursuing individual research, ITS has defined fields of research and started networking with universities and other institutions. Through publications, lectures and other events, the academic discourse will be transparent.

Historical Background

The information on the history of Nazi persecution serves for a better understanding of the work of the ITS and the importance of its archives. It comprises texts on anniversaries as well as a timeline, and are compiled by the academic staff of the ITS research department.

Educational Work

The ITS supports the educational work of schools, universities, memorial sites and other institutions. The ITS offers its archives for pedagogic purposes, cooperates with educational institutions, offers a traveling exhibtion, workshops and teaching materials.
