Visitors to the ITS
The doors of the International Tracing Service in Bad Arolsen are wide open for visits and visiting. Visitors’ groups and individuals concerned are offered guided tours on the premises of the archive. A regular guided tour takes place every month on the first wednesday afternoon at 2.00 p.m. For organizational reasons, you are kindly requested to give notice of your visit in advance:
Following their prior » filing of an inquiry, persons visiting the ITS on a » research purpose may use the reading room during the opening hours mentioned. It is essential that the documents are utilized exclusively in the electronic archive. If, in well-founded rare cases, the documents are not sufficient or not available in the electronic archive, the originals may be looked into.
If visitors are interested in consulting the correspondence, they must observe the closure period, which, as regards the individual documents in a file, amounts to 25 years. Every user of the archive has to observe the » regulations for access, the time line for visiting and the fees’ scale as effective at the ITS.
