Visitors to the ITS
The doors of the International Tracing Service in Bad Arolsen are open for visitors. Groups and individuals are offered guided tours on the premises of the archive. A regular guided tour in English takes place every first Tuesday of the month at 2:00 p.m. For organizational reasons, you are kindly requested to give notice of your visit in advance:
Victims and their next of kin may visit ITS and look through their own personal documents. Prior to a visit to ITS, an » inquiry about the documents sought should be filed, and an appointment should be scheduled. This allows the archive staff to check the document inventory in advance and prepare the specific documents for the visit.
Researchers visiting the ITS on a research purpose may fill out an » application form and use the » reading room during the opening hours mentioned. It is essential that the documents are utilized exclusively in the electronic archive. If, in well-founded rare cases, the documents are not sufficient or not available in the electronic archive, the originals may be looked into.
