Child transport to the ghetto

“No special care required!” was the instruction given by the commander of the security police and secret service in Prague to the central resettlement office in Łódż. Following the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, the village of Liditz was razed to the ground as an act of revenge in May 1942. The men were shot, the women deported to the concentration camp. Without any personal belongings, ninety children between the ages of one and sixteen were sent on a transport to Łódż.
