ITS Library Catalogue now online

The library catalog of the International Tracing Service (ITS) is now available in a new online version. Researchers and visitors can get information in advance about the library's holdings and better prepare their research stays at the ITS. The catalogue was so far only available on site.

The library of the ITS features more than 10,000 publications, including 450 journals and periodicals. In terms of its collection, the library is unique; its holdings chiefly pertain to the history of the Holocaust, incarceration and forced labor under the Nazis as well as the postwar period, particularly with regard to the fate of Displaced Persons (DPs). Visitors can also access publications on how Nazi crimes were dealt with in the years after 1945, on remembrance culture and both the history and activities of the ITS. The library’s collections furthermore include rare published sources and other valuable publications, mainly dating to the early postwar period—for instance materials released in DP camps, or periodicals created by survivor associations and camp committees.

With the new online catalogue, users can, for the first time, browse the library holdings of the ITS in preparation of their visit. But even if you do not plan on coming to Bad Arolsen, the catalogue may be useful as a specialized tool enabling a systematic search for literature concerning the main topics of the ITS.
