IRO brochure

In 24 pages, The Facts About Refugees describes the situation of displaced persons three years after liberation. The booklet deals with issues like supply problems as well as administering and funding of DP camps; graphics and photos supplement the texts.

On the 30th September 1948 the director general of the International Refugee Organization, William Hallam Tuck, wrote the following note about this “relic” in the archive of the ITS: “... The brochure illustrates that the refugees and displaced persons of Belsen, Auschwitz and Dachau have come a long way. Look around a DP camp today and you will see men, women and children who are perfectly normal in every respect except one – they have no home.“
